Q: Can I take your picture now?
A: Yes, but can I take the picture with my duckie?
Q: What do you guys like the most about the park?
A: The fountain!
A: And the people!
Q: What do you guys see when you look at the arch?
A: That thing in France we saw when we took a trip to Paris.
Q: What do you like the most about the park?
A: Well, I like the freaks, um, NYU college girls, and the music being played all the time. I just like the mixture of people.
“I could sit and watch these people all day. It makes me wonder where they come from, their backgrounds.”
Q: What’s the hardest thing in your life right now?
A: Keeping my job I guess.
Q: Did you guys play music together?
A: Yeah, I mean, we used to sing at one time.
A: We had a little band going on.
A: Now I do this as a hobby, make a little money here and there, y’know, nickel and dime – you do what you enjoy in life.
Q: What was the best moment of your life?
A: When I got married.
Q: What is the hardest struggle you’re facing right now?
A: To be honest, my addiction. I’ve been addicted for about four, five years, but I’m trying to get help. Trying to sort my insurance and go to rehab. My wife never knew for about three, four years cause I would hide it from her, but then one day she busted me.
Q: Has your addiction hurt your relationship with her?
A: Yeah, it has.
Q: Do you still love her?
A: I love her very much.
Q: What would you say is the happiest moment of your life?
A: The happiest moment of my life was actually on September fourth – my son was born. He is ten days old.
Q: What’s it like being a dad?
A: Yeah, y’know, I had a lot of friends who have kids and they all tell you, “Oh they’ll change your life, they’ll change your life,” but until it happens to you, you’re like, “Yeah, whatever.” But let me tell you, it fucking changes your life man. It’s like a body blow. But you got so much love for him.
Q: What’s his name?
Q: Can I take your picture?
A: Yeah, sure! Just try not to get my double chin.
